Message They have my turbo's right now and are doing the same T28/25 upgrade. So you people do have another option besides DSP for about the same price. Just letting you guys know...

: Well, I just had the new ATK engine put in with the rebuilt DSP T28/T25 turbos and I already have a little bit of blue smoke from the tail pipe. I called ATK and they said that until I break the engine in, I should expect a little "puff" of blue smoke out of my car, but my mechanic said that it's definitely more than a "puff" but less than a "cloud" of smoke at the present time. Dan @ ATK said that the "puff" should be from the rings trying to set itself in, however if I get a cloud of smoke then that's not good.
: The problem I'm facing here is this,
: a) The car has barely 3hrs of run time on it so far. That
includes the 60 Kilometers of driving.
: b) I have NOT boosted past 5 psi at all.
: c) I have new everything in the engine bay, except for the
Transmission, the HICAS controller and the fuses in the
Fuse box.
: d) Yes that does mean new turbo lines, engine bay wiring
harness, det. sensor, O2 sensors, vacuum hoses,
Intercoolers, Injectors, Clutch, and everything else
that I could get my hands on for now.
: I tried to do everything right, and left nothing to chance and this is my result.

: The mechanic is currently installing the HKS boost controller and the HKS AFR unit along with the traction control unit.
: Hopefully this problem is simply an issue of the car running rich when I let off the throttle to come to a stop or when the revs come down to idle, if it is then I'll be able to adjust the problem with the HKS AFR unit on the dyno. But if it's not then I don't know what to do.
: However my mechanic said that he “thinks” that this cannot be simply fixed by adjusting the HKS AFR unit to run a little leaner. Since he has 6 turbo charged cars of his own, I trust his judgement when he says that it looks like the turbos a showing signs of failure already, but he said that we might be over exaggerating the problem already. Mind you I have yet to tell him the recent history of the DSP T28/T25 turbos here on TT.net.

: Sorry for this being so long, but do any of you guys have any advice for me? What should be my next step?
